If you have just brought a new puppy or dog into your family and plan for them to be a house dog, getting your new pet house trained should be your first priority. There are several dog house training techniques that can help you out and the method you choose to use will depend on your own personal preference and your family’s lifestyle.
One dog potty training technique is called paper training. Basically what you do is train your dog to go to the bathroom on paper in your house. Praising them when they do what you want is important and getting after them (in a loving yet stern manner) when they make a mess in the house. Some people use this method as a backup for emergencies and plan to use the next method for normal situations.
Training your dog to go to the bathroom outside is one of the most common methods of house training. The best way to do this is to take them out very often and praise them when they go to the bathroom. As I mentioned above, make sure you scold them when they make a mess in the house. If you are interested in combining two techniques, you can praise them a little bit when they go on the paper and praise them excessively when they go outside. This will show them that it is ok to use the paper, but much better to wait and go to the bathroom outside.
Another possible technique to use is called crate training and works well for people who can’t let their dog out frequently. Why is it so easy to trait puppies and bunnies are not? I just hope I can train my bunnies not to chew furniture, walls and anything in the house so that they will not be locked in their rabbit hutch most of the time.

@Kylie .. I’ve seen trained bunnies before, so it is possible! Maybe it’s time for me to get back to the http://RabbitLvr.com project … Would you like access to guest post and document your ventures in Rabbit Training? (and can also promote your rabbit hutch shop :D) // Let me know.
