How to Tame Your Budgies | Parakeets

Budgerigars or parakeets are fun birds to keep as pets. Although budgies are not difficult to tame, the taming process requires plenty of time, patience, and consistency. Don’t forget to have fun while you’re taming your budgie; it can be a truly rewarding experience for both you and him!

If you cant touch your budgy in the first 2-3 weeks of care how are you supposed to get them back into their cage when you let them out to fly?

My parakeet is untrainable! I've tried everything to train my budgie, I have followed multiple video examples like this. And I have had him for almost a year now!
But he is still scared, and I don't know what to do…

    Any advice?

I know this video was literally a year ago, but I have a question to anyone who ends up seeing this. I have a parakeet and I’m on the stage where I interact with him outside the cage. He seems fine but sometime he takes a small step away from my direction and when he is eating and I come close he stiffens and looks for somewhere to go, this only happens when he is eating. He sometimes faces his back towards me idk if he is just nervous if that’s just him, but when he is eating he tries not to face my direction sometimes. Other than those complications he is fine. I do have hope, but what should I do?

2 weeks seems like a worst case scenario to me because all the budgies I’ve ever had seem to get accustomed to my home in only a few days or so. Hmm maybe I’ve just been lucky or something?

I've 2 Budgies for Weeks now. I spend hours a day reading near them and they never get used to me. The only time EVER they come to me is If I have food in my hand. When I put my finger close to them, they stare a thing at for minutes and don't move, or they cling on to the opposite side of the cage. When I try to calm them, they get scared, I can't even touch them without having them freak out. Please reply if you have a solution

So I just got my two budgies three days ago and when I put my hand in the cage they don’t try to fly away and when I put my hand near them with seed they don’t get scared either, does that mean they’re ready for perch/finger training?
