The thing that angers me most is that many children have been encouraged to use dangerous punitive methods (as I was)

I actually had a veterinarian in my area (I brought my two dogs there to get their yearly eval) and one of my dogs was shaking and yelping everytime he was touched and the Vet grabbed MY dog roughly by the scruff and I said “Woah Woah, what are you doing?” and you know what the Vet said to me? “You have to show them whose boss because he is just being a brat and I can tell you spoil him”. I took one look at him and said “My dogs are NEVER babied and the reason he is yelping is out of fear”

People first need to understand the basics of operant conditioning so they understand what all 4 of the quadrants, what they mean and how they are applied. There is really no ALL positive training. But there NEVER needs to be any physical punishment or pain in any place or time, or to ANY living being. But punishment doesn’t have to be physical or painful. Negative punishment and positive reinforcement are the most used by ethical animal training and should be for family and students in my opinion

Love this, as a Zoologist I completely agree and I know that they are talking about Cesar Millan, but can’t say the name due to legal reasons. Cesar Millan should be banned from working with animals. That man is a savage and has NO CLUE what he is doing. The sick is thing, like Victoria said, because he is on TV people think its ok and its not. I can’t even watch that mans show because the blatant abuse that goes on is repulsive. Thanks for making this video Victoria and doing what you do.

Continued from my last message below: I grabbed my dogs and left before the exam completed. It is sick to think that even a Veterinarian uses methods like these. I have never been back since.
