How To Teach Your Horse A Halt/Stay Cue (Part of "Stay/Come")

In this video I show how I start teaching my horses a halt/stay cue. This goes along with the advanced leading and stops but you now add in a whip cue and more body language. This is useful for libery work but also for pushy horses in general that like to crowed your space. It gives them a boundary and lets them know exactly what you’re asking of them and where you’re asking them to be.

If you try these exercises with your horse(s) and have any questions I’d be glad to answer them or help. More ‘How To’s and training videos coming in the future!

I’m really enjoying your tutorials! I would love to see a video on getting your horse to come to you. She does it in the ring, but not in the pasture.
