I love your videos Zak. I got an 8 week old puppy about a week ago. My question is: is it too soon to start leave it training. She is an American bull dog and a boxer mix. My routine has been to take her for anywhere from a 20-40 minute walk and then work on some training. She’s doing well with sit and lay down and the look at me is coming along slowly. When I try to get to leave it, she gets rambunctious and bitey. Is she too tired to do more training, does she need more exercise, or am I expecting too much from her? I will say that she gets rambunctious and bitey right before she goes to sleep- think a toddler running out all of his energy trying to convince you he’s not tired and then passes out as soon as he stops.

This was really helpful with my puppy. He's 50+ pounds at 18 weeks, with all the energy of a puppy that young. This technique worked the same day. Angus picked it up very quickly. Thanks for the great video.

These videos are all so helpful! Brings tears to my eyes because the motivation to communicate and help the dogs feel safe and proud is so genuine😭 My new shelter doggie just wants to please but I need to learn how to communicate more clearly and with consistency. Thank you!

What a great video!! I adopted 2 American bullies in the past 2 weeks. I just taught one of them "leave it" in less than 5 minutes. He's high energy like the one in your video and picks up commands very quickly. Thank you for the great tips!!

Thanks so much for this video using an untrained dog! I've watched so many videos and it's obvious that the dogs already had training and knew the commands. They are helpful of course but seeing a dog acting like my new untrained 28 lb. 7ish month old rescue puppy and how to work with that level of excitement is very very helpful! Thanks for giving this shelter boy your time and attention as well.

Omg love! I’m obsessed. I’ve always had dogs but they were always already trained when I adopted them. I have my first puppy who’s now 1year and I had no idea training could be so fun and easy! Thank you!
