Help for the Victims of Hurricane Katrina – Iams
The Iams Company Helps Pets Left Homeless by Hurricane Katrina
We at The Iams Company are deeply saddened by the loss and suffering of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. To help the many dogs and cats who were left homeless by the disaster, we have established the Iams Friends For Life Fund, which is now accepting donations from caring individuals who want to assist in helping animals in need from the disaster area. In addition to the initial $200,000 worth of food donated by Iams, the fund will match any monetary donations it receives up to an additional $25,000 in Iams and Eukanuba dog and cat foods. For more information on how to donate through the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, please visit: http://www.greatercincinnatifdn.org/page25510.cfm.
We want to recognize and thank those who are helping in the relief efforts, including the American Kennel Club (AKC), animal shelters and welfare organizations throughout the area, and two of our key local distributors: Lonestar Pet Supply and Southland Distributors.
In addition, Procter & Gamble has made an initial contribution of $1 million in combined cash and product donations to the American Red Cross and America’s Second Harvest. Both Iams and parent company P&G will continue to work with these key relief agencies to support our employees and our customers during this time of need.
