Any suggestions on how to make my golden retriever a little “birdier” or how to train her nose a little better? Or is this something that is mostly just bred into them?
willowcreekkennels
“Birdieness” and Nose ability is something that is bred into a dog. Though your dogs nose can be trained with experience on birds to improve his overall hunting ability.

At approximately what age are you teaching the dogs to heel?
Your videos have great content, thanks for making them.
willowcreekkennels
In this video, Rooster is between 4 and 5 months old. Using the positive reinforcement methods you can start this a almost any age. Just remember the younger the dog the shorter your sessions will have to be.

Your videos are great! I have 14 week old GSP and its my first one. I recently just bought a clicker and he is getting use to “here” i want to start doing “Heel” but when hes on a leash he is ALWAYS pulling so there is no time i can reward him for walking right. what should i do?

@annebeatty10 We can recommend using the Wild Rose combination lead. This is the lead we use in the video and is what we would recommend you try as well. Visit the Wild Rose Trading Post at UKlabs.com, or give us a call and we can send you one as well. 320-360-3603

@willowcreekkennels Thanks!!!!

what kind of treats are you giving the dog? The treats I see in the stores only say to give 3-5 a day.
willowcreekkennels
@oooooo3131 The treats we are using is just dog food. We recommend that you use one of your pups entire meal for a single training session. This helps to keep you pups focus and they have to work for food!
