I just found this pet related video on YouTube … and thought it would be of interest!
Note: information from YouTube
www.petrescuebyjudy.com Black dogs and cats are the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized. There is no real reason for this. For those of you who are against euthanasia, against the “catch and kill” cycle of some pounds, and against gassing shelters, please know that Judy has saved many dogs and cats from these situations. Many organizations have rescued animals from gassing shelters and transported animals directly to Judy’s rescue, who are then placed in the loving homes of her foster families, until adoptions are made. Judy’s contributions to the community have been profound, not only to the animals she has saved, but to the families that have adopted her animals, who have found their forever pet. Please join us by commenting on this video so we can design a plan that works for all. To date, Pet Rescue by Judy has rescued, dalmations, pugs, dobermans, chows, pit bulls, mixed breeds, old english sheep dogs, border collie mixes, terriers, bearded collies, Shih Tzus, Chihuahuas, Cocker Spaniels, Great Danes, Labrador Retrievers, Mastiffs, Dashchunds, Yorkshire Terriers, Cairne Terriers, Rat Terriers, Pomeranians, Puggles, Cockapoos, Poodles, Wired Hair Terriers, St. Bernards, Swiss Mountain Dogs,Greyhounds, labadoodles, Akitas, Huskies, Coonhounds, Bulldogs, American Eskimos, Foxhounds, Staffordshire Terriers, Water Spaniels, Australian Cattle dogs, Australian Shepherds, Basenjis, Beagles, Tervurens, Pointers, Bernese Mountain dogs, Bichon Frise, Bloodhounds …

I’m the owner of a pair of fabulous black cats adopted from Pet Rescue by Judy. They’re brother and sister and I treat them like they’re my babies!
This is so true! That’s why I’m the proud owner of 4 black dogs!!! Great idea by the way. ~Melissa
As someone who has always loved black dogs and cats, I was amazed to learn the sad statistics on them. Knowing how unlikely it is that they will be adopted, some shelters euthanize black cats as soon as they get them. It is truly heartbreaking as these animals are every bit as loving and deserving as their “bright” brothers and sisters. If you are considering adopting a pet, please give a second look to a black one. You’ll be glad you did!
It is so sad to think that some pets are euthanized just because they aren’t “seen” in those critical moments when someone is walking by or scrolling through a webpage. They have so much love to give! Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing it.
Yes, God Bless you for bringing this to our attention! I adopted an OLDER black dog…and I want other’s to give also give OLDER pets a home! They are the best…already trained and ready to give LOVE!
Of my five rescued cats and dogs, two are black. Black animals have always been my first choice! I think they are beautiful! Great video! Good for you, and God bless you and your rescue Judy!
I adore you and all that you do! luv, Kim
i wish i could help somehow ;/
god bless these beautiful animals
I have a soft spot for black dogs, it’s such a shame that people overlook them! I was owned by a black/silver/seal Scottish Terrier for ten years and now own a black Rat Terrier/maybe Lab/something mix who I adopted in his honour. She is a fantastic dog! She looks very much like the pups at 1:33.
At 1:13 too 🙂
lmao but i love black dogs lol
We have a 1-yr old black cat named Alexander. When we walked into the room at the shelter with all the black cats, I felt so sorry for them, thinking that no one probably wanted them. Little did I know that we were about to fall in love with Alexander in that room. He’s so smart. He even fetches.
I did not know this. I am going to ask out local RSPCA to see if it is the same in this country.Thanx for your work and making this known,
