Train Your Parrot to Talk on Cue and Much More

Many of Smokey’s tricks are nothing more than natural behaviors that have been put on cue. Using the capturing method, we could take any otherwise natural behavior and place them under stimulus…

Thank you i just got a galah (rose breasted cockatoo) from a breeder he
used to be a breeder but his mate died and he got so depressed he picked
every feather off his chest so we went and got him and he is nice but it is
hard to train. for instance his wings are clipped but i think they are long
enough to fly from the ground up to my shoulder. he is very nice

You are fantastic. I have a wonderful grey if 6 years of age. Unfortunately
the first 4 years of his life he lived in a bad place and was bullied by
another bird – an eclectus that the previous owner thought was a good idea
to put in the Grey’s territory. This has resulted in the grey biting, being
afraid and not trusting people. I have build a great relationship with my
grey over the last 2 years and he trusts me. The past still haunts him
though and I was wondering if you have any techniques of how to train a
grey that essentially is a rescue bird. My Kiki is so lovely and is
everything to me and I know he could learn. I have not been able to teach
him before now because he had to come out of his shell and trust me. I
think he is ready now 🙂
