YouTube Description

This short tutorial goes over the basics of how to teach your dogs to play leap frog. You can be as creative as you want to be with this trick, but remember to keep your DOGS interests and SAFETY in mind!!!! Dogs under 2 years old should NOT play this game- as dogs under 2 years should not jump repetitively higher than 2 inches.

What do you think?

Hey Emily where do you get your treat bags from? I can’t seem to find one that is comfortable and doesn’t look ridiculous, yours seems very nice. Right now I use a red one from Milkbone and I hate it, it’s so bulky and I have trouble getting the treats out of it. Thanks for any advice!

Whenever I see a trick you do, I’m like “woah, that’s amazing, how the hell do you teach a dog to do that?” and when I’m watching this, you make it look so easy that I feel like an idiot πŸ˜€

Cool. I had two dogs before but they both died (cancer and diabetes… I miss them ;( ).
If I’ve seen this before I sure would’ve wanted to teach ’em… well I was actually too young but whatever.

Thanks for that! I have been working with over / under with my lab and mastiff, but seeing the big dog laying down with a treat and the little dog being lured over really helped me understand how to do the foundation exercises.

Are you going to do a little intro video for your newest addition like you did for Tug? πŸ™‚ Lovely doggie. That is a cute trick! I love the idea of teaching a dog to do leap frog like I learned growing up, where you jump over all your friends and then take your place at the end of the line to be jumped over. If I ever have a gaggle of kids handy… πŸ˜‰

I see you watched my video. Yup, I got right on that one. Not sure if the lab will jump over a standing mastiff. He certainly has the spring to do it, but he might think that it isn’t the wisest activity. I wish I had a couple of ramps so he could do an Evil Knievel.
