    Theoretically clicker training can be taught at any age! With babies I
    always caution to take any type of training slowly and keep sessions very
    short, as they have short attention spans. I would also be mindful of what
    sound the clicker makes, as it might frighten very young rats. Try to
    choose a clicker (or substitute sound) that isn’t too loud or too sharp.
    Good luck! 🙂

    There may be many reasons that your rattie is not interested. He could be
    too distracted, might not be very food motivated, or perhaps hasn’t bonded
    with you closely enough. You might try training at different times of day;
    I’ve observed that some rats are more receptive to training in the evening
    instead of the afternoon, for example. Or, you could try withholding his
    food before attempting the training (no more than 12 hours!) so that he is
    hungry and therefore more interested in treats! 🙂

    You should see him now! He’ll be 3 years old this fall, and has lost about
    80% of his fur! I love my balding little old man! <3
