Breathing in the fresh, warm breeze, stretching your legs with a walk, basking in the sun and taking in the view are just a few ways to appreciate the summer weather. But don’t forget that your furry friend likes these activities too. If you have been kicking yourself for not including your dog in your outdoor fun, go to Paws in the Park 2009 and redeem yourself.
The Fox Valley Animal Welfare League (FVAWL) and Fox Valley Park District is presenting this event, which will be held on Sunday, June 28 from 11 am to 4 pm at the Lincoln Dog Park in Aurora, Illinois. Whether it’s raining or shining, the show must go on, so if you’re traveling to this event, you will not be wasting your time.
You can also spend time with your friends and family by bringing them along. There will be a clown for the children as well as a variety of dogs to meet and greet. In addition, you can watch K-9 presentations and behavior and obedience demonstrations. So if you have a new puppy, this is an opportunity to socialize them and learn tips on how to manage your puppy’s bad habits. Even rescue organizations will be there in case you have room for one more adorable pooch.
During your stay, eat some tasty food (pizza, hot dogs, etc.) and stock up on any pet products you might need. A blessing of the animals will also be offered. A $15 tag (resident rate) for a season ticket to the fenced-in doggy play area will be available, so if you’re lucky to live near this dog park, take advantage of this pet-friendly place.
This event has a variety of activities to keep you and your loyal companion entertained. Just remember to bring lot of water, especially if it’s hot, treats and dog waste bags.
