Please bear with me. This is the “GILA” theme, obtained from here … I first noticed it at BloggingPro (which I read often in my Bloglines) … and decided that I would try it for the next week here (to Sept 17/2005).
Our current theme is\was the “Sixties” theme, modified by me with respect to the styles and colors. I really like it, but have noticed that on some days the sidebar just doesn’t show up on the side, and ends up on the bottom after all of the posts. There has also been some adsense issues on the main page.
I like that this theme, the “Gila” theme, is full screen and has 3 columns. For the next week I plan to leave it up and play with the .CSS stylesheet to see if I can tweak it to my liking. If it goes well, I will then modify the individual files in this template to personalize it and make it a little more user friendly ..

What did you think of it and how would you compare the old template against this new one?

This is a comment posted on the Gila Theme. I think immediately my first impression about this theme is that both the left and right sidebars looks better in Firefox than it does in Internet Explorer. It adjusted it to fit the graphics for one thing in the left sidebar. In the right sidebar, at the top, the Feed and Bloglines graphics are side by side in Firefox, but ‘NOT’ in I.E… another sizing issue it would seem.

So far so good … it looks promising. After 1 day of tweaking, already I like the new look. Granted, I think the right sidebar might be a little too wide and large text and the left sidebar might be a little too narrow and smaller text … I’ll still be tweaking in the background 😀
