Humane Society warns against puppy mills

The puppies for sale over the Internet, in newspaper ads or in pet stores seem healthy enough, but looks can be deceiving.

Behind the friendly facade of frolicking puppies often lies a puppy mill, a factory-like facility run by owners motivated by high profits.

The Humane Society of the United States wants to stomp out puppy mills by giving pet stores an opportunity to be open and honest about where they get their puppies.
