How to train your parakeet to eat off your hand

Tink and Bell have been with me for a week. They are a year old and would never allow their previous owner to touch them or feed them by hand. In less than a week they have learned to trust me and eat out of my hand.

This video shows you how to train your new parakeet to eat out of your hand. It takes a bit of patience, but you can definitely train a parakeet who previously would not go to humans.

Well good luck with that patience lol. I would rather hold them on my own xD They are pretty birds plus the cage is beautifully set up. Mine's a mess haha

very nice and helpful video! I've tried this with my two budgies and it worked. First day; they were pretty hesitant and occasionally would look up from their food at me, but both of them ended up on my hand. thanks for making this video for us!

I got my bird 2 days ago and he is already trusting me, stepping on hand, head and shoulder. BUT he won't eat out of my hand. I removed food and water just kept the cutterbone, I waited for 2 hours did not eat, then another 2 hours still nothing, it been now 8 hours and still won't eat seeds, millet, pears nor apples. What should I do?? he is less than 4 months old

This is the best video I have seen on training your parakeet to come to you when you have more than one bird in a cage.  I am desperate to get my parakeets to come to me.  I am going to try this. Thanks so much.
