Hey! Thank you for this useful video. By the way, I notice many people keep on talking about Xobodog Training (just google it), but I’m not sure if it’s good. Have you ever tried this dog training program called Xobodog Training? I have heard several extraordinary things about it.

We have a poodle who doesn’t cry immediately when left alone. He is kennel trained and loves being in there, but we only use it at night. During the day, he lays on the sofa and if I go upstairs to do anything, he will cry after about 5 minutes. Should I go down and reassure him? We try calling him up the stairs, but he just keeps crying until we go down and spoil him. :/

    Hello 🙂
First of all thanks for you videos, you are really helpful since we don’t want to go to a school or something similar.
We have a question (maybe someone else can answer too 😉 ): Is it useful to leave the dog in the (closed) exercise pen when you are at home or does that give the dog a wrong idea? We have a 12 weeks-old puppy and it sucks to let her on the leash all the time since she could have more space and freedom in the pen…
Thakns again and have a nice day 🙂

Hi, Kikopup! Question– how are you liking your Chihuahua? I have to decide whether I want one by this Friday, as I put a small chihuahua puppy on hold. He’s quiet now, but I am just afraid of the yapping when they grow bigger in a few months. Do you have any tips on their yapping at anything and everything? Thx

do you think a dog can truly be happy with a person that works a full time job (40 hrs/wk)? i really want a dog but i’ll feel bad having to leave him for that many hrs. i don’t have anybody that can dog-sit, daycare would be out of the question because none of them stay open by the time i get off of work (midnight), and i can’t come home during lunch because it’s too far away. BUT i figure, having a home and a parent is better than being at the shelter..? what do you think?

Gutted I only just saw this now! My puppy is 16 weeks old and barks for attention throughout the day while I’m at school teaching. Shes had two barking complaints so far. I think she may have mild separation anxiety. Will this still work? Any info you have is hugely appreciated 🙂

I am experiencing the exact same scenario. I have been told to give my puppy treats (or a kong classic) every time I go to another room, but when my puppy finishes the treats, she starts whining and just stares at the door…

I feel like when I start doing this, that my pup is waiting for me to come back. I’ve only just started, and am ensuring that I click BEFORE he can see him as I walk back… But I’m curious if I’m doing anything wrong as he anticipates? When I try to prolong the wait and he notices that he is not getting the treat right away, he starts to whine. Perhaps I need to make his alone period trips quicker? They only last 15 to 20 seconds at most. Any tips?

I don’t know if you still need help with this or not, but I find interactive/foraging toys to be very useful. I generally put dog bones out for her also & leave interactive toys stuffed with treats or something laying around for her to play with while I’m gone. A good ‘special’ treat for my dog is to mix her dog food with a SMALL amount of soft dog teats crumbled up & mixed together with a SMALL amount of Peanut Butter stuffed in her foraging toy. She cant resist it. Good luck!! =)
