1. You do realize you touched hamster poop and then you put it in his bathroom tray? That's gross, your hamster won't appreciate it either.
2. Not true, hamsters are just like anyone they don't want to use the bathroom in a messy place. Their bathroom area should always be clean and not full of their own stuff.
