Autumn Pet Shows

This fall make sure to check out the various pet shows that will be happening in the U.S. and Canada. Not only will your pets appreciate a snout full of fresh air, they will enjoy being a part of the pack.

The 250th Halifax Kennel Club Dog Show will be held at Exhibition Park in Halifax from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1. The show will include obedience trials and drill team performances. Also pet supply vendors will be there so you can stock up on of your doggy needs.

Even cats are included in the pet shows this season. The National Capital Cat Show will start on Sept. 6 and end on Sept. 7. This cat show will feature various pedigreed cats including rare breeds like the Cornish Rex, Egyptian Mau, Ocicat and the Norwegian Forest Cat. Both days will have agility shows as well as vendors selling cat supplies. Also the 155th Beaverton Fall Fair will be held from Sept. 12 to 14. The fair will start with a parade and later in the evening the cat and dog shows will commence at 7 and 7:30 pm.

The OTHER Dog Show at the Bay Area Pet Fair & Adoptathon in Northern California will take place on Sept. 6 and 7. This pet show awards adoptable and adopted pets with titles like “Most Muttalicious,” “Best Lap Dog,” and “Best in Show.” Only dogs that have been adopted from agencies or shelters can be entered in this show, but that doesn’t mean other dogs can’t watch the fun. If you are looking to add another pet to your family, the Multiagency Adoptathon will be there with dogs, cats, rabbits, rats and birds that are in need of homes.

If you are looking to enter your cricket, lizard or frog in a pet show, check out the 39th Annual Bi-County Fair, which will take place Aug. 28 through Sept. 1.
