WHS Ad – March 12, 2008 – Please Adopt Me

Please join us for our Radiothon on Saturday, March 15 from 9am-6pm CST on CJOB! The WHS will be sharing stories about how it is more than just a shelter for lost pets and a place to come to adopt a dog or cat. Tune and listen to our volunteers, staff, and adopters talk about the animals, how they’re involved and why and call in to make your pledge during this special fundraising campaign. Donate by phone, on line, in person, including drive thru donations! To donate: (204) 927-1001, toll free 1-866-436-1001 or http://www.winnipeghumanesociety.ca

Roxy, 152589

Roxy is a very sweet, happy-go-lucky 2 year old Shepherd mix whose owner had no time for her. Roxy loves to play with other dogs and was good with her owner’s cat. She shows great family potential for kids 10 years+. Roxy has food allergies and requires a certain diet to control this; food allergies are a common occurrence in dogs and relatively easy to control. Roxy’s adoption fee includes her vet exam, pet insurance, Rabies vaccine and more!

Charlotte, 151880

Charlotte’s owner had too many cats and was being evicted from her home; Charlotte and four other cats were surrendered to us in January. Charlotte is used to living with other cats and is a friendly and happy 1.5-year-old cat. Charlotte has been with us for too long- her adoption fee is only $39.50 as a longterm cat.

Saving just one dog won’t change the world… but it surely will change the world for that one dog

Adoption fees include vet exam, spay/neuter, pet insurance & more! http://www.winnipeghumanesociety.ca for more information.

Thinking of an Easter bunny for someone you know this Easter? Think twice! Rabbits are too often acquired on a whim and end up surrendered to shelters nation-wide; they are the third most surrendered pet to North American shelters. If you want more information on rabbits as pets, visit us or log onto http://www.rabbit.org to get the information you need to make an informed decision. The WHS saw a 56% increase in the number of rabbits admitted between 2003 to 2007! If you’re unsure about being able to commit to a living creature who can live up to 10 years, this year say Make Mine Chocolate™!
