    hi i have i black lab and i was wondering how to start the training out? i have a whistle and a pheasant scent if that is any help.

    @eastonhockey5644 Congrats on beginning training. Sorry it’s taken so long to respond to this. We have been crazy busy this year! There are a lot of different training styles on there, but the one most of us use around here is to begin with a training collar and check-cord, then progress to e-collar reinforcement. Commands I generally start with are “Sit”, “Stay” and “Kennel”, because these are the most helpful both in the house and in the field. We have a ton of videos available through this

I would highly suggest looking into these. Also, Tom Dokken has written a book, called “Retriever Training” which I highly suggest. Also, Rick and Ronnie Smith are some of the best in the business, and they do seminar tours. Highly suggest trying to check one of these out! They’re schedule is on our Facebook page
