You know what I think is so awesome? Watch what this puppy does after the training – all he wants is to be with Victoria. He just loves her. It’s adorable. If she were harsh with that puppy in any way, it wouldn’t act like that. My vote is for positive reinforcement every time. 🙂

Why would you want to lock him up in that incredibly small cage?

OMG Thanks SOO much Victoria! My puppy never likes to be in a crate- he never been in a crate before. The only thing is that he dont like to be left alone. I actually dont know how put Charlie (my pets name) in a crate yet. So thanks so much Victoria hes LOVES his crate! Believe it or not, he spents most his time in his crate! XD

You should watch the video - and perhaps you will understand what a crate is for, and not for.

My puppy loves her crate so much that now that shes full grown she still sleeps in it. I started with a large crate because she a golden retriever I knew that she would get much bigger. I didn’t want to buy a crate every few weeks, ha ha.

I am concerned about the crate. My puppy will become a huge dog since he is a English Mastiff. I have had two before in the last 22 years and just did potty training by bringing the puppy outside often during the day. I think the “safe zone” concept is great. I am just not sure if I would do the crate part of it yet?

Most puppies that have big crates tend to use one side for sleeping and the other side for pee and poo.
