*OTHER HYBRIDS WILL BE ADDED AS DEMANDED BY BREEDERS.

PLEASE NOTE:

The first breeder to create a new hybrid cross has the opportunity to name it if chosen to do so.

If the breeder does not choose to name a new hybrid, our office will do so.

Once a name has been selected, that name will be used for all successive litters of that particular hybrid.

Hmm .. I don’t know .. pittzu ? pittshi ? bulltzu ? bullsh*t ? I often hear this mixture more of as a question and joke with that last term as the answer!

What do you call him? Do you have a picture? I’ll post it!

Kidding aside…I just adopted a “Shih Tzu” from a rescue league and was told he was Shih Tzu/Poodle. NO WAY!!! I believe he is a Pitbull/Shih Tzu. Has the Pitbull nose and amber eyes lined with pink. His lips are pink also. Does this combination make sense to anyone?

  9. HART (1-800-HART)

There appears to be a Havamalt but, it is not a purebred although now seems to be recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club according to this page:

I think this site is great. I would like to make a sugestion. I had a dog that I bought from a friends home. They had an American Eskimo female that mated with a Golden Ratriver by mistake. The puppies were beautiful. They looked more like the American Eskimo but had the coloring of the golden and the temperment of the golden. The ears floped over. Iam 59 years old and I have always had a dog since child hood. This puppy was the best dog I ever had. I wish someone would start breeding this combonation. She was a good medium size dog. Very smart easy to train quite not hiper very loving the perfect pet.

These dogs are not hybrids! They are what naormal people would call a mut! Hybrid would be somthing like a shiba inu-fox, Or a husky-wolf. Not dogs that have bin bread stupidly or by mistake. goldendoodle! ha… Its all a joke. Muts! $40 each!

  18. HART (1-800-HART)
    | Reply

Maggie .. generally, if it’s not on the list – it’s not recognized hybrid dogs, although from the looks of it .. I don’t see why you can’t call your pet a “designer breed” pet. In most cases, the “designer” part is meant to indicate that the mix of breeds was to better one or both of the breeds (smaller dog that doesn’t shed, or bark, or whatever the perceived benefits actually are – you probably know more than I do – i’ve never seen your breed before)

    1) The Cavachon is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Bichon Frise.

    2) The Zuchon, also commonly called a Shichon by many breeders, is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Bichon Frise and the Shih Tzu.

thank you very much for getting back to me so soon. to the person calling designer dogs mutts maybe they are but there better than full breeds that come with many health problems due to inbreeding like the poor king charles spaniel that ends up with a painful neuro condition from inbreeding to get the perfect king charles spaniel

  24. HART (1-800-HART)

@angie .. I suppose it is what it is (how you pronounce it!) However, according to this page http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/shinese.htm the international pronunciation would be “Peke-A-Tzu”

I love the designer breeds. I breed maltepoms (maltese/pomeranian), yoranians (yorkie/pomeranian), and morkies (maltese/yorkie). They’re all adorable, hypoallergenic and non-shedding dogs. They get along beautifully with other animals as well as children.
