www.PetRescueByJudy.rescuegroups.com Extreme Makeover Petition site www.petitiononline.com Judy Sarullo, an animal rescuer in Central Florida for over 15 years, lost her kennel 18 months ago due to a zoning issue. Since then she has had to rely on a network of foster homes and dedicated volunteers. Despite these limitations, she finds homes for over 1500 cats and dogs a year. Now, however, she is facing a new threat that may mean the demise of this vital Central Florida resource. Orange County Code Enforcement has found her in violation of code and given her six months to come into compliance or face fines of 0/day. Since Code Enforcement will not tell her in what way she is “out of compliance” this essentially means Judy has to move or shut down her rescue! Judy has six months to relocate and is asking communities in the tri-county area to offer suggestions. She is searching for a small parcel of land, zoned for industrial use, that has power and water to it and can be fenced! More importantly, she wants to relocate to an area whose community will welcome her and her cause. For those of you who are against euthanasia, against the “catch and kill” cycle of some pounds, and against gassing shelters, please know that Judy has saved many dogs and cats from these situations. Many organizations have rescued animals from gassing shelters and transported animals directly to Judy’s rescue, who are then placed in the loving homes of her foster families, until adoptions are made

Please … If you think this video is not appropriate nor related to pet adoption and rescue .. please let HART know via the Contact form. Thank-You

I used to be in animal rescue myself and I know how much work, self-sacrifice, and dedication it takes! I will definitely spread the word. I’m appalled at News Channel 13 and will let them know how I feel. SPCA is great but are very recognized already. The little rescues need all the help they can get. Judy- I hope everything works out, keep the faith!!

Thank you for your positive words. They are what keep us going! We appreciate the work of the SPCA but, goodness, as you say, they already have high recognition and funding. There are so many small rescues struggling every day, making a difference in the lives of those they touch!

That is a beautiful video, what can people do to help?

We are asking for ideas, donations, calls to politicians or others who can help, and most of all we hare hoping that someone can donate industrial zoned land in Seminole County. And please sign the Extreme Home Makeover petition, whether you are a Florida resident or not. If the producers see national interest, maybe they will follow through. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the support! If you have any ideas, please share them with us through our website. And encourage EVERYONE to sign the Extreme Home Makeover petition. Although we initially limited it to Florida Resident, we hope that national support will demonstrate to the powers-that-be that this would be a show that would touch hearts everywhere!

I know the work Judy does and I just cryed all during the video. Please help her! When you save a dog you save a child or person. How many of you know that a dog saved over 1000 people during the 9-11 attack in New York and this was not a designated rescue dog, it was an ordinary dog.

thanks for your comment. It was validating. I have been publishing animal rescue videos since 2005, beore Youtube. 1,000 people-Unbelievable. It’s a crisis, unfortunately, that bonds people. And since when are any of us “designated” to do what we do? We just do! Thanks again. Follow your heart!

This rescue needs help! I hope that Judy can go on saving abandoned animals. Maybe instead of spending so many resources on enforcing codes, the state should find a way to make pet owners more responsible and that would avoid the situation all together!

This is a very worthy cause. We need to do all we can to help the homeless pets in America. Pet Rescue by Judy does a wonderful and selfless job working to save animals. God Bless you all.

The problems of our rescue are only a microcosm of the problem in our country. Too many areas have given in to the “easy solution” of kill shelters. We CAN be a NO-KILL nation. Nathan Winograd and the No Kill Advocacy Center have have successfully helped cities and counties around the country convert to a no kill philosophy in a matter of months, saving lives and taxpayers’ money. It is attainable! It just requires community support. Look them up on the web ~ it will give you hope!

Pet Rescue by Judy has become a very important part of my life and I love helping the animals to find the right home. I have made so many friends through PRBJ, Just imagine how many more we could place if we had a shelter. Thanks Gisele for another great video, and thanks to all our volunteers!

I have watched this video several times and every time it brings tears to my eyes. As a volunteer for Pet Rescue by Judy, I have personally witnessed countless abandoned dogs and cats find their forever homes. Without PRBJ, these dogs and cats would have suffered terrible fates. Judy has saved so many lives and she has brought so much joy to families in our community looking for the perfect pet. It’s time to return the favor by finding her and the animals she rescues a shelter!

My son is now ready for a dog. We have a cat. We’ve researched every breed imaginable. Recently we’ve been going to petsmart and petsupermarket to see the pets by Judy…we’ve decided to rescue a dog in need – at least one. What an amazing rescue Judy runs…my son wants to be a vet and as soon as he is old enough he wants to volunteer at Pet Rescue by Judy. Let’s save this amazing NO KILL rescue! For the pets, for our children.

Two Paws Up! Checked out your website, looks like you’re going strong … I’m trying to push the message of how AWESOME rescue pets are, I posted my latest work as a video response here (hopefully it posts). Launched my video two days ago in honor of Anniversary of Katrina — I know you pulled 100 dogs out after the Storm. I’m at LuluAndLolly (dot com) — come see what i’m up to — Please use my work to help spread the message that rescue dogs ROCK — I think we’ll help draw people in that way!

This is typical for Florida. I think we need to get after these code enforcement departments and stop the theft they are doing. It seems like the whole state is infected with this relentless desire to micro-manage your lives and steal all your money.

I wish someone would put Rescues by Judy out of business. A couple of years ago I paid two-hundred dollars for an old dog from her. The dog came with a ‘clean’ bill of heath by the vet that Judy used at the time. After ‘Scruffy’ was examined by my vet and an ortho vet it was determined that both hips needed replaced and both front knees needed replaced. Judy’s adoption app. claimed she would take her dogs back but she refused to help me and she refused to take the dog back. SHAME ON YOU JUDY!!!

Definitely always supporting rescue pets, especially dogs. We have a cat (he chose us), but we’d like to add a dog too. Hopefully soon.
