Let’s Do Lunch…Bark, Bark!

JenniferSitting down with your friends for lunch once a week is a chance for you to catch up, so it’s the perfect time to bond. Every so often don’t forget to share lunchtime with your dog too. The spring is a great time to get a bite at outdoor cafes where you can sit back and breathe in the fresh air, of course with your furry companion by your side.

There are some pet-friendly restaurants out there where you can wine and dine your doggy along with other pet lovers. Some are in South Carolina, Colorado and Oregon. You might even have a barkery nearby too where your pet can scarf down a delicious dessert. Not only will you be able to show your dog how much you care, but your pet will also have an opportunity to meet new friends.

When you have a puppy, socialization is key if you want to raise a friendly, confident adult dog. If you’re worried about those uncomfortable pet messes, carry a designer dog waste bag dispenser so you can quickly clean it up. Puppies are easily excitable, but taking them out to lunch will give you an opportunity to teach them some doggy etiquette such as patience, politeness and pawsitivity.

In addition, you and your pet can start working on your summer bod by walking to and from the café to burn off those lunch calories. If you have a park nearby, take advantage of it to play fetch or to break in your hiking shoes. Regardless of what you choose to do, you and your dog will have a wonderful bonding experience that could become a traditional outing event. Plus, you might even meet some new friends, which will lead to more doggy lunches and play dates. So keep pet-friendly restaurants in mind this spring, because you can enjoy them while at home or if you’re on the road.

Usually, we walk our dogs to Dairy Queen and get some Ice Cream in the summer, or to the bakery at Victoria Beach .. and share in the ‘spoils’ .. There are lots of places with outdoor tables and seating or picnic benches if you look for it.
