June 2009 Pet Shows

NonemThere are so many opportunities to show off your pet or admire others this June so take a look at the upcoming events and start marking your calendar.

Sleeper Dog Shows a.k.a Roy Jones Dog Shows
Eleven events will be held in June. Many of the shows will be located in Illinois, but some will be in different states such as Ohio, Wisconsin and Kentucky. These all-breed dog shows are a great way to start competing.

5th Annual Novelty Dog Show – June 6
At the Viejas Outlet Center in Alpine, California from 9 am to 12 pm, dogs will compete for the ‘Top Dog’ title and a $50 cash prize. Service dogs for people with disabilities will be sponsored during this event, so attendees will be supporting a worthy cause too. The event is free to attend, but if you want to compete, entry fees are $6 per class or $20 per four classes.

Diamonds are Furrever – June 6-7
It may seem like it’s easier to find dog shows, but cats also have some tricks up their furry sleeves. From 9 am to 4:30 pm at the Sheraton Hotel in Houston, Texas, cats will claw their way to the top. In addition, the show will promote shelter cat adoption as well as the importance of spaying and neutering. It costs $49 to enter your cat and it’s $6 for spectators, so if you want to stay out of the summer heat, this can be a cool experience.

Yacht Dog Show – June 27
If you want to treat your dog to a special event held ashore, consider the Two Harbors Yacht Dog Show in Catalina Island, California. Just be sure that your dog has updated shot records including distemper. For more information on this event, contact Leslie Luchau at 310.510.4249.

Enjoy checking out the breeds and good luck if you decide to compete!
