My Chesapeake bay retriever tends not to jump people but infront of them,
he jumps with all fours getting in the way of you walking.

My dog both jumps and bites my hands. I have tried this method, but he
doesn’t seem to reacting well. He tries his hardest to jump up and bite my
hands, I don’t know what I am doing wrong.

Finn jumps on everyone that is new who walks into the house and only a few
people who live in the house. He has gotten better when we get home but new
    people is more difficult.

hi Zak George – my 50lb pit mix is 1.5years old and still excited pees when
we come home or when guests come over. We can’t pet him for at least 5
minutes when we come home to give him time to calm down. It’s always a mess
when someone comes for a surprise visit. It even happens right after taking
him out to pee. People keep saying he will outgrow it, and he seems to
understand that he’s not supposed to do it (he will go to his bed or crate
afterwards and look guilty)…is there anything I can do?

My 5 month old mini schnauzer marmaduke jumps all the time on me my family
members and on people that come over and sometimes is a little mouthy but
hes is still a puppy and i know he is teething so i am just trying to teach
him that this is not ok. He also tries to jump on the couch when we are
sitting on it but luckily for us is not yet big enough to do that. He is
also obsessed with picking up paper related objects on walks (i.e.
newspaper, foil, paper towels) and obsessed with playing with boxes.

Hi Zak or anyone who can help me and my family here… She is a 16 week
old labradoodle who is incredibly high energy and hyper constantly. We took
her to puppy class yesterday and out of 10 puppies she was the most hyper
and disobedient! Could it be her food? Please help!!!

    I know you’re busy but I have 2 video suggestions. I have 2 chihuahuas 1 is
6 and the other is 2. My 2 year old barks if you’re moving around. And also
when the visitor turns to leave they run to nip at their feet. I tried
different things but she is really nervous and she is a submissive pee-er?
    Urination? She’s really high strung.

My dog really is a jumper when she see guess and we’ll literally just jump
and and jump like her feets on springs. Well since I’ve just saw this
videos of your’s I’ll see if it’ll be my savior. Btw I like how u actually
described all the most aspects details. And I was wondering can you also do
a video on how dog’s gets hyper active with other’s dog’s? Which I meant
like how not to literally start pulling the leash when your holding their
    leash.

Great video. Yes I would love to see something on unwanted barking. Our
German Shepard “talks” to us when she wants to go outside to potty. But she
“talks” from that moment till we get outside. Sometimes, the baby is
sleeping and sometimes she is not sleeping.

    Hey Zak,

Our dog (5.5 months) gets really excited when we come home and even more so
when we have company over, and in addition to jumping, he will also
sometimes pee out of excitement. When he gets so excited that he starts
peeing, it’s really hard to get him to sit or calm down – the peeing
usually gets worse if we talk to him or try to get him to do something. Do
you have any tips on how to stop this behavior?

    Thanks!

One of my dogs gets really excited about training and starts to jump on me.
For example, when we’re working on leash training and I redirect her,
she’ll jump up. I try to catch her early by giving her another command,
like sit, but often that will just prompt her to jump-sit, where she’ll hop
up at me and land in a sit, even if I’m using my hand to block her. She
just plows her to face right into my hand and it doesn’t faze her in the
slightest. Thankfully she’s pretty respectful of other people, though she
occasionally does jump up on strangers who want say hi to her right after
we’ve been working on something exciting.

    Hi Zak!

Awesome video! May I suggest making a video on how to deal with dogs scared
    of certain people.

I’ve been watching your videos for a very long time and actually everything
my 11th month old German Shepherd has learned is based on your training
    methods.

For example, our neighbor, an Indian guy, my dog gets nervous when he comes
around and starts to bark at him. Not so much aggressive but more scared. I
know this because he’s done this same emotion on a leaf scratching across
    the ground.

I’ve watched Cesar Milan(I completely agree with your point of view on
him)however is my dog trying to protect me based on his understandings?

Lastly, is it bad for a male dog to lift his leg? Is he showing dominance
    over another dogs territory?

    Thanks again!

Hi Zak Love the videos….really helping us with our new addition. We have a
11 week old toy Australian shepherd, who is very smart and quick minded but
when she smells something she wants outside she is in a completely
different state of mind where i can t get her to come or listen at all.
She is VERY food motivated but even that doesn’t get her attention. Also
you have said that they shouldn’t be off lead when unreiable but how do i
ensure she gets adequate exercise as she needs a lot.

Thank you! I love it! We have the same problem with our girl recently and i
guess it’s because we’ve let our guards down like u mentioned. But can’t
wait to wake up tomorrow and work with her on this. We’d also like to see
the video about how to train our puppy girl (5 months old cocker spaniel)
to stop sniffing everywhere on the walk and let us have a pleasant walk
together. That would be really helpful!
