I hope to adopt two adorable ratties, and hopefully this year, my parents are warming up a little to them ^-^

although I'm having a little trouble on deciding which gender I want, any advice for a beginner like me? 😛

    hey there!
i am trying to train my boys (6 months and 3 months) to do a few simple tricks, but ive been having trouble. Even starting out with something simple, like fetch or just picking something up is hard. they seem to be really distractable, and have no intrest in any object. i cant seem to lead them to it either, as they wont follow my hand often. when they do, they have more intrest in playing with / licking my hand, not the object or place i was trying to lead them.
ill try to reward with treats, but they are more intent on climbing all over me to get to the bowl, then making the connection that they will get food if they do so and so. ive yet to see them understand this. i dont know if they're to smart or to dumb to do what i tell them to lol.
either way, if anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated!

I wish that I could teach my mouse this but I can't because I need to get her through basics because she doesn't understand how to do any trick yet. Before I teach her this I will get her to do it easier tricks

I'm dying of excitement because in less than a week I get to bring two baby girl ratties home. Without your trick videos, I don't know what I'd do to train them. <3
