This will be easy for my cat since she already pees (and poops…) in the tub drain (and doesn’t miss the 1 & 1/2 inch hole…) instead of her expensive litter box…

When I transition the cat from litter to water in the bowl, the cat seems to stop using the tolier all together. What am I doing wrong?

I am just finishing stage 1 of toilet training, my cat already sits on the edge of the toilet seat, can I skip the platform stage and move to the water stage?

I started the training process yesterday around 1 pm. I put a bowl of litter in the toilet as instructed, just a little worried cuz as of this morning at 9am, there was no pee or poop in the bowl. I’m worried they might be going elsewhere. I also noticed this morning that one of my cats(the youngest) dug around in the bowl but didn’t use it. Should I be worried or is this good signs?

Sometimes a cat gets startled by the water, or had a privacy issue and has become scared of the commode. It seems to take more privacy to poo. This is when I would try some empty plastic bottles around the area where miss millie was having accidents. Good luck.

My cat was completely fine with using the toilet, no bowl, no cardboard, for about a week. All of a sudden, he is pooping on the floor. He pees in the toilet, but always poops on the floor. Any suggestions?

The down side of this neat concept (aside from splashback, stressed-out cats, and cat waste lingering in your toilet) is that it serves the owner’s purpose, not the cat’s. A cat likes to bury its waste. Don’t deprive it of its natural instinct because of a personal issue. That is selfish. There are also medical reasons this is not a good idea. For the litter-squeamish person, there are self-cleaning litterboxes and sanitary gloves–less mess and the cat can do it’s thing the way it likes to.

I bet it’s confusing and stressful for them, because they just don’t get what this is all about. We are at the go-in-this-little-hole stage and he hates it, but he’s doing it. I started out by trying to make the bathroom this really interesting place, so he would maybe understand I wasn’t just fucking with him, but we were really “doing something new” that involves the bathroom. I feed him in there and we used treats at first to work on luring him up and enhancing his balance on the toilet seat.

Hi, thank you for your video. I got the same problem as Rose and tried filling the bowl up really high. My kitty managed to “go” in there for about a week but then he became kind of confused and reluctant to dig in that small hole. Is it stressful for him? I had to get back to stage 1 for another week and am putting on the plastic board now but no progress made. My kitty refused to go to the toilet since yesterday. I need your help please.
