Hi All Fellow Animal Lovers! by Malea

When a friend introduced me to the Amanda Foundation here in Los Angeles I had no idea this would change my entire life. The more time I spent with these animals the more I loved them and the more I realized how much work needs to be done. I’ve heard people say “oh I could never do that I get so attached” and yes, that’s true. But you are truly helping many of these animals get adopted and so many that have been abused, neglected, ect., blossom so quickly with just a little TLC. It takes a village!

This has truly given my life so much more meaning and purpose.

As an Indie Singer/Songwriter I’ve been lucky enough to be able to travel around the country and play music, which has also exposed me to many different Animal Organizations. We all have the common goal of “TRY TO HELP ANIMALS!” In Kauai, where the staff is mostly volunteers and they have the happiest dogs I’ve ever seen, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where the animals are trained and evaluated before adoption. In San Juan Capistrano, CA the “Ark” is trying to save as many animals from euthanasia as possible because there are no other “no-kill” foundations in the county.

I try to give back to any community that welcomes my music by helping their local Animal Organization with exposure, awareness & donation. I believe animals help many people lead happier & healthier lives. Animals are the best part of us!

I greatly appreciate the opportunity to communicate with all of you, my Friends and Fellow Animal Lovers!”

Malea donated tickets to our Humane Society last week to see her perform with Kenny Loggins. WOW, She actually thanked Humane Societies for our hard work during her show infront of 5000+ people. I was blown away & she is pretty incredible live, but you probably already know that.

How can we get Malea to come to Atlanta? We could use more artist giving back to charitable foundations today. Our donations are down this year to say the least.

I’m not one for blogs, but when I read about this on your website it made me interested to take a look. It is amazing to me that you are a working musician who runs her own record label & works with animals in her free time. I would love You to talk to my children one day.

You are the quintessential all around modern woman. I can’t wait to read your next entry. I am planning to catch a live performance when you come back to Chicago.
