Guard dog Attack training German Shepherd/Malinois k9-1.com

I just found this pet related video on YouTube … and thought you might enjoy it!

YouTube Description

Personal protection attack dog training video of a 7 month old German Shepherd/ Belgian Malinois mix puppy. Although this dog isn’t old enough to do real guard dog work it is being prepared to do real protection work… sort of like sending a child to karate class. He will finish guard dog training at about 18 months old. Quality protection dog training takes patience, respect, and knowledge. If a dog is trained with yelling and intimidation…how do you expect them to do protection work on a yelling man? Beware of people who sell sport dogs (aka schutzhund trained dogs) as “personal protection dogs. Sport dogs are trained to look pretty doing specific protection routines on a training field and may be confused in a real situation when there is not a bite sleeve or protection suit to bite. Also these types of protection dogs are trained to take stick hits instead of avoiding them and attcking that arm. This is because you can’t hold the stick with an arm within sleeve and schutzhund is a sport that is meant to prove a dogs bravery and show they are worthy of breeding, therefore they are trained to take stick hits that are always used with a stick that won’t really hurt the dog and are always hit on safe spots of the body. This is setting the dog up for failer when they must fight a person for real that is planning on hitting them in the head with an iron bar. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the dog training video of Matrix… another client dog trained by K9-1 Specialized Dog

You are right about the Giant Schnauzers, however, what the video is referring to is Schutzhund, which refers to a dog sport in which dogs “attack” an aggressor without actually being trained as protection dogs. As a part of the sport, these dogs are trained to bite a sleeve and no other part of the body. An actual protection dog will bite whether a protective sleeve is present or not. Hope that helps clear things up a bit!

Haha are you kidding .. seven months old that dog should be working bite development . All I saw was a poor nip. That you could have caught on your bare arm. No intensity no drive. Poor bite foundation . Fix it man I’m sure its a nice dog

no reason to train a dog to attack like that let them make the decision if their guarding your house or whatever. that training is only good if your a police officer and trying to arrest him or your in the stone age and have no guns…a long time ago people traded in their dogs for shotguns. its cool and all but not as effective and why put your dog in danger??

@pyroflash93 With your mentality you also run the risk of your dog just attacking someone and then it is put to sleep and you are slammed with a lawsuit. I am certain that if someone breaks into your house, as soon as you show signs of distress that dog will go ape shit on the poor bastard who broke in. If someone tries to mug you, give the dog the signal and it is game over. These people have the right idea.

@s5b678 who would they attack? working dogs are smart and bred to think for themselves. if someones in my house their either with me and the dog will know hes friendly or he broke in. instead of training him to obey you like that you can train him to know what kind of threat he need to attack. if its a good dog it wont be to aggresive. they are assertive brave and powerful. If dog is to random with aggression then this would be the route to go.

That is a very well trained dog but with my protection dog I don’t want him to just stand around when theres a obvious threat cause what if I don’t notice it or I’m to stunned to say anything, also I would not just let someone who attacked me get away without half there leg in my dogs stomach.
