Best in Show Brunch

Chow Chow IIDog enthusiasts, listen up because you will not want to miss this event! There is no better way to start your new year than by attending the Metropolitan Dog Club’s second annual Best in Show Brunch. So, make sure a credit card is easily accessible and register for this once a year event.

The brunch will take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur in the East Balcony of Grand Central Station in New York. Because this event follows the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show (February 9-10), the festivities will feature some of the prominent figures from the dog show. For example, the brunch will begin at 10:30 am with a Blue Ribbon reception where you can meet and talk to Sari Brewster Tietjen, Westminster’s Best in Show judge. David Frei who has 20 years of experience in the Westminster Show as well as Bo Bengston who is a 50-year veteran of the show will be present too.

Some individuals such as Joanne Anderson, Long Island pet columnist and Greer Griffith, manager of Animal Assisted Therapy at the ASPCA will be honored for their contributions and efforts to help pets and people.

A portion of the profits will be donated to a charity called Take the Lead. This organization provides assistance to individuals who have supported the sport of dogs for at least five years and are now suffering from a life-threatening or terminal illness. Take the Lead has helped qualifying individuals pay for prescription drugs, home health care, health insurance payments, etc.

Not only will you be presented with a meal fit for a king, the Westminster winner will have an opportunity to choose between a plate of chicken or steak. Attending this event is a great way to learn more about dog shows and breeding. So make your reservations in advance.
